Framer Portfolio Templates for UX and Product Designers

Free Framer portfolio templates for UX and product designers, how each handles case studies, CMS limits on Framer Basic, and what hiring managers look for.

Five blank case study pages laid out in a row on a desk, each with a different arrangement of headings, image frames and a short column of numbers

Short answer: Look for a case study page that lets you state the problem, your role, your decisions and the result without fighting the layout. Five free templates from this site and two from other creators are below, with how each handles that. None of mine is built around UX research steps, and I say where each one falls short.

I make Framer templates. Kaspar, Maël Blanc and Fiber are mine. Moreau OS and Cedar are on my site but are not my templates, and Handoff UX and Tabfolio come from other creators. I read every listing on October 26, 2026, and I do not name a single winner.

What a UX portfolio has to do

Two sources describe what hiring managers look for, and they agree on the main points. Neither is a study.

In April 2020, Indeed Design interviewed six Indeed UX managers. They said the portfolio is the most important part of the application, and they wanted project overviews with the problem, the process, the team and your role. One said final mockups with no path to the solution is a red flag, and another asked for at least a project or two showing iteration based on feedback.

In January 2026, designcase.app, a vendor of a case study tool, published similar advice. Make the problem clear in the first screen, state your role early, show decisions and trade-offs, and end with outcomes without overclaiming. It also says not to turn the case study into a gallery of screens.

What to look for in a template

Before you pick one, check these:

  • Fields or space for the problem, your role and the outcome
  • A place for metrics or results
  • A way to handle work under NDA
  • A CV download or a link to one
  • A clear contact path
  • CMS collections and pages that fit your plan

My picks

Kaspar Framer template home page with the glass xylophone, shown on a desktop display

Kaspar

Portfolio · Free

A light Swiss portfolio for product designers and art directors. The case study has a title, client, year, discipline and services, then a story and a captioned gallery.

Maël Blanc Framer template preview 1

Maël Blanc

Portfolio · Free

An editorial portfolio with a Projects collection and a Services collection. Case study pages have a sticky sidebar with the project details.

Fiber Framer template preview 1

Fiber

Creative · Free

A minimal black and white portfolio with a 3D project stack on the home page and a Shots archive.

Kaspar names product design and design systems as disciplines on its Services page, and its contact form takes a service and a budget. Its limit is that the case study is one story field, so the structure is up to you. The next section shows one.

Moreau OS is a desktop-style portfolio where each project opens in a window. Its Projects collection has fields for challenge and solution and a credits list, which is the closest of the five to a problem and result structure. It is distinctive, so think about whether it suits the audience that will review your work.

Maël Blanc fits a designer who wants the images to lead. It has no metrics field, so metrics go in the case study text. Fiber’s case study holds up to three images or videos with client, year and roles, which suits a short project, not a long process story.

Cedar is dark, with three impact figures on each case study, each with a label and a sentence. That is the nearest of these to a place for metrics. I did not confirm its collection count, so check it before choosing Basic.

From other creators

Handoff UX, by NS. Studio, is described on its listing as a free portfolio for UX, UI and product designers who are looking for a job. Each case study has role, team, timeline, platform, the problem and three metrics, then Context, Research, Decisions and Result. It has a 30-second card with a CV download and an NDA switch.

The listing warns that the NDA switch only hides images on the page. Hidden images are still part of the site and can be downloaded, so leave the Cover and Gallery fields empty for NDA projects. It also says the people, companies and metrics in the demo are made up.

Tabfolio, by Sebastian, is listed with a Remix for Free button. Its page says case studies are built on the CMS, with up to six custom sections per project that you can rename. A Pro version is listed at $69. I did not check what the free version leaves out.

A case study skeleton for a story field

If your template has one story field, use six short headings, adapted from designcase.app’s structure:

  • Context: the product and the situation
  • Problem: the specific problem, stated plainly
  • Role: what you did, and what the team did
  • Decisions: the key choices and the trade-offs
  • Result: the outcome, with evidence you can explain
  • What I would change: what you learned

Write the problem so it makes sense in the first screen. Say “I” where you did the work and “we” only where the team did.

Plan fit and cost

On October 26, 2026, Framer Basic was $10 per month on yearly billing with 30 pages and 2 CMS collections, and Pro was $30 with 150 pages and 10 collections. Framer calls the Free plan ideal for non-commercial use, and a custom domain needs a paid plan.

One case study collection fits Basic easily. A template with many collections does not. The Product Designer template by SoloFoundry lists 7 CMS collections and 36 pages, which is more than Basic’s 2 collections and 30 pages. My Framer pricing guide has the fit table for my templates.

FAQ

What is the best Framer portfolio template for a UX designer?

The one whose case study page lets you state the problem, your role, your decisions and the result without fighting the layout. The table above shows how each handles that.

Is there a free Framer portfolio template for UX designers?

Yes. Handoff UX is described as free and built for UX, UI and product designers. Kaspar, Moreau OS, Maël Blanc, Fiber and Cedar are free on this site too.

How many case studies should a UX portfolio have?

Framer’s own blog advises leading with three to six strong projects for a portfolio in general. I found no source that gives one number for UX specifically.

Can I show work under NDA?

Yes, but hiding is not the same as removing. Handoff UX’s listing says hidden images can still be downloaded, so leave the image fields empty for NDA projects.

Will a UX template fit Framer Basic?

One case study collection fits, since Basic lists 2 CMS collections and 30 pages. A template with 7 collections and 36 pages, like Product Designer, does not.

What should my homepage title say?

Your name, your role and your city, for example “Your Name, Product Designer in City”. Then write a unique title and description for each case study page.
